Metals technology
The metal lathe used at the 332nd Maintenance Squadron metals technology flight is able to turn and cut any piece of metal a technician can place in its three-jaw chuck. The lathe uses dies that are made out of hardened metals, such as tungsten carbide, and it can cut a piece of metal to an accuracy of a 1,000th of an inch. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Staff Sgt.
