Department-Level Exercise (DLE) Series

Through this series, the Department of the Air Force is preparing to be a stronger, more lethal deterrent force, to provide an advantage against competitors and adversaries across all domains, and to ensure regional stability in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

The DLE series will incorporate multiple command exercises into one overall threat deterrence scenario, including Resolute Force Pacific (REFORPAC), Resolute Space, Mobility Guardian, Emerald Warrior and Bamboo Eagle 25-3.

It will also integrate multiple allies and partners in specific component exercises with shared interests. Partner integration is critical to U.S. efforts to ensure regional and global peace and stability and provides a decisive advantage against complex threats.

This 20-minute b-roll package features footage from Operation Freedom Lift, a combined aeromedical evacuation training event conducted during Freedom Shield 26 at Gimhae Air Base, Republic of Korea, March 10, 2026. The exercise brought together medical personnel from U.S. Forces Korea, Eighth Army, the 65th Medical Brigade, and the Republic of Korea Army to rehearse coordinated casualty evacuation and patient movement operations.

Footage includes a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules assigned to the 374th Airlift Wing arriving at Gimhae Air Base to support the training event. Medical teams stabilize simulated patients, prepare them for transport, and coordinate movement between ground medical teams and aeromedical evacuation personnel.

Operation Freedom Lift allowed participating units to practice patient stabilization, tracking, and transport procedures across multiple locations while strengthening interoperability between U.S. and Republic of Korea forces. The training supports combined readiness and improves the ability of allied forces to deliver lifesaving care and conduct medical evacuation operations during contingency scenarios on the Korean Peninsula.
