Air Force 75th Anniversary Poster: Flight of the Blackbird - 1960s era

The Flight of the Blackbird poster is the third poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 1960s era. In 1967, the SR-71 Blackbird, a strategic reconnaissance aircraft, set the record for the longest Mach 3 flight in history, traveling over 14,000 miles. The SR-71 still holds many speed and altitude world records. Innovation, fueled by Airmen, is the Air Force’s heritage. Airmen pushed technological and cultural boundaries to make America the leader in airpower and spacepower, with all the strategic advantages that status provides.
