The Flight of the Blackbird poster is the third poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 1960s era. In 1967, the SR-71 Blackbird, a strategic reconnaissance aircraft, set the record for the longest Mach 3 flight in history, traveling over 14,000 miles. The SR-71 still holds many speed and altitude world records. Innovation, fueled by Airmen, is the Air Force’s heritage. The Apollo 15 poster is the fourth poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 1970s era. With an all-Air Force crew comprised of Col. David R. Scott, Lt. Col. James B. Irwin and Maj. Alfred M. Worden, Apollo 15 blasted off from Cape Kennedy Space Center, Fla., July 26, 1971. Many people look back on this mission as the most scientifically important lunar trip since the first landing. Innovation remains an integral part of how the Air Force trains and employs its squadrons, develops capabilities, and moves toward an even more effective Air Force. Air Force 75th Anniversary Poster: B-52 Stratofortress - 1980s era
The B-52 Stratofortress poster is the fifth poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 1980s era. On March 12-14, 1980, two B-52 crews flew nonstop around the world in 43.5 hours, covering 21,256 statute miles, averaging 488 mph, and carrying out sea surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The F-35A Lighting II Dominate the Skies poster is the seventh poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 2000s era. The first F-35A Lightning II was rolled out in Fort Worth, Texas, Feb. 19, 2006. The F-35 is designed to provide the pilot with unsurpassed situational awareness, positive target identification and precision strike in all weather conditions. Air Force 75th Anniversary Poster: First Unmanned Flight - 2010s era
The MQ-1 Predator poster is the eighth poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 2010s era. The MQ-1 Predator completed its first unmanned flight and participation in its first humanitarian mission supporting the earthquake relief effort in Haiti, Jan. 27, 2010. The MQ-1 Predator is a system, not just an aircraft. A fully operational system consists of four aircraft (with sensors), a ground control station, a Predator Primary Satellite Link, and approximately 55 personnel for deployed 24-hour operations. Innovation remains an integral part of how the Air Force trains and employs its squadrons, develops capabilities, and moves toward an even more effective Air Force.
