Air Force bowling centers and golf courses will host an Air Force Hoops promotion during the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship Tournament from March 1 to April 8.

Air Force Hoops, a free scratch-off game, gives participants the opportunity to win instant prizes or a code which generates a random tournament seed and the opportunity to win the grand prize.

"The objective of the Air Force Hoops promotion is to increase the number of customers who visit our installation bowling centers and golf courses, while providing an opportunity to the program managers to introduce new customers to the lifetime sports of bowling and golf," said Col. David Anderson, the Programs Division chief. "This promotion will provide an atmosphere which contributes to building Airmen's resiliency while enhancing morale through social interaction."

The top instant win prize at each participating installation is a limited edition Air Force Hoops commemorative bowling ball, limited to one per installation. Other instant prizes include free food, free bowling center and golf course items, and force support squadron gift cards valued up to $500, all of which may be redeemed through April 30.

To play the code, participants must register at http://www.MyAirForceLife.com/AirForceHoops. Registration requires an individual's full name, email and the name of the base where they reside. Each code a participant enters will generate a random tournament seed.

"Instead of filling out a bracket, participants will get a random seed in the tournament," explained Mr. Don Freund, the Air Force Bowling Program manager. "The more codes participants enter, the more seeds they get, the more opportunities to win!"

Participants may pick up scratch-off game pieces at participating Air Force bowling centers or golf courses, limited to one-a-day. Game pieces will also be awarded with the purchase of a commemorative 44-ounce Air Force Hoops soft drink or combo meal.

The Air Force Personnel Center's Services Directorate will randomly select 25 participants April 17 who registered online and received the winning team of the tournament. These individuals will win prizes ranging from various combinations of bowling equipment, to a shopping spree within the golf course's pro shop, to the grand prize of $5,000.

"Once the drawing is complete, the winners will receive an email informing them of their prize," Freund said. "These participants will have until April 24 to claim their prize."

Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry, the holder of a U.S. Department of Defense identification card, and an eligible user of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs and facilities.
