Wright Patterson celebrates National Salute to Veteran Patients Week with Valentines

On Feb. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Dayton's Veteran's Administration auditorium, the base will participate in its first annual Valentines for Veterans program in honor of the National Salute to Veteran Patients Week, which is Feb. 8 to 14.

Col. Brad Spacy, 88th Air Base Wing commander, will speak to the veterans; the Band of Flight will provide entertainment and base volunteers will deliver more than 1300 valentines to the veterans. These special valentines were hand-made by 16 local school children specifically for these veterans.

The purpose of this event is to express sincere appreciation to local veterans and to let them know in a very tangible way how thankful people are for their service.
