JTF-Bravo deploys medical personnel to support Haiti disaster relief

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras (AFNS) --  A team of Joint Task Force-Bravo medical personnel deployed Jan. 17 in support of disaster relief efforts in Haiti following the devastating earthquake Jan. 12.

Twenty-three members JTF-B medical element departed for Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where they will provide critical medical support to Joint Task Force-Haiti in support of Operation Unified Response, the joint U.S. military disaster relief mission there.

"The Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen on our medical element team are ready and eager to help Haiti," said Col. Marie Dominguez, the JTF-B Medical Element commander. "Providing humanitarian assistance is one of our primary missions here at Joint Task Force-Bravo, so we are well-equipped to respond to the disaster and help reduce suffering."

Members of JTF-B stand ready to assist the residents of Haiti in the wake of this natural disaster.

"Joint Task Force-Bravo has a rich history of providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief," said Lt. Col. Brian Severns, the JTF-B deputy commander. "We are here ready to support the United States' disaster relief efforts and help our friends and neighbors in Haiti."
