Air Education and Training Command wins the USAF Marathon MAJCOM Challenge Published Nov. 13, 2009 By Bryan D. Carnes Air Force Materiel Command Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFNS) -- The Air Education and Training Command won this year's U.S. Air Force Marathon Major Command Challenge Commander's Trophy, with the Air Force Materiel Command coming in second. The announcement was made last week at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The MAJCOM Challenge is an Air Force-wide competition open to active-duty and activated Guard and Reserve servicemembers. The winner is determined by participation and race performance. This is the third year the MAJCOM Challenge has been awarded, with Air Force Materiel Command winning it last year, and the Air Education and Training Command winning the initial event. The USAF Marathon is an annual event held at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, in Dayton, Ohio. The 2010 USAF Marathon is scheduled for Sept. 18.
