An Air Mobility Command NCO here recently earned the National Defense Transportation Association International Junior Executive Leadership Award.

Tech. Sgt. Alisha Cua, an air transportation specialist assigned to AMC standardization, programs and resources branch, will be recognized at the NDTA National Convention Sept. 23 in Nashville, Tenn.

The NDTA Junior Executive Leadership Award recognizes outstanding junior executives who demonstrated leadership ability and responded in a constructive manner to current issues confronting the transportation distribution industry.

As the NCO in charge of the 463L Pallet and Net Program, Sergeant Cua provides daily updates on $241 million in 463L pallet and net assets. According to the sergeant's nomination package, she coordinated with 898 users "to ensure proper reporting using the Global Asset Reporting Tool system, helping ensure accountability and proper distribution of these critical assets worldwide."

According to the nomination package, her efforts enabled the success of 125 vital mission requirements through sourcing $23 million in assets to the appropriate agencies. Sergeant Cua also took the lead in coordinating and establishing a joint rapid improvement event for Department of Defense 463L pallet management to improve visibility and accountability, and to reduce pallet purchase and repair costs.

Additionally, she deployed for six months to the 386th Logistics Readiness Squadron in Southwest Asia, where she led 85 personnel in daily flightline operations, transporting 165,000 passengers and 12,000 tons of cargo on 4,000 missions.

Eduardo Garcia Jr., the DOD 463L and aerial port equipment manager for AMC's standardization, programs and resources branch, said Sergeant Cua is a highly respected member of the air transportation community and is truly deserving of this recognition.

"Sergeant Cua has clearly been a driving force behind joint service transportation policy changes, ultimately identifying roles and responsibilities for 463L asset managers," Mr. Garcia said. "Diversity is the key to her success and it shows in her stellar accomplishments, regardless of the level of responsibility her numerous positions hold."

In addition to her on-duty performance, Mr. Garcia said Sergeant Cua is equally involved in the community.

According to her nomination package, the NCO is a "selfless volunteer" involved in numerous activities.

Mr. Garcia said the sergeant dedicated 25 hours to aid in relocating, painting and cleaning a new facility for the Scott Air Force Base Airmen's Attic to ensure opportunities exist to lend a helping hand to Airmen in need. He said she also tutored a kindergarten class at a local elementary school to help build the skills, habits and attitudes students need to succeed in school and in life while simultaneously strengthening bonds between military and local communities.

"She also led a directorate-mandated Wingman Day where she guided group discussions on the concept of the buddy system and scheduled four sporting activities, instilling camaraderie and teamwork while strengthening unit morale," Mr. Garcia explained. "And, she raised more than $1,000 for numerous morale events for AMC's Director of Logistics Booster Club, as well as assisting a sister squadron with their fundraising opportunities."

"Her invaluable air transportation experience, selfless service to our nation, and devotion to personal improvement, all embody the qualities demanded in a modern-day professional military logistician," he added.
