Air Force officials announce officer promotions

Air Force officials here March 5 announced the 2007B line of the Air Force, line of the Air Force-judge advocate, medical service corps and chaplain central selection boards selected 24 lieutenant colonels, 1,094 majors and 94 captains for promotion.

The entire list can be found on the Air Force Personnel Center's homepage at http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/ and on AFPC's "Ask" Web site.

The boards considered 180 lieutenant colonels for promotion, 6,263 majors and 115 captains. The results of the board are as follows:

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for colonel were:

-- For chaplains, three were selected from 11 considered for a 27.3 percent select rate. -- For medical service corps, 18 were selected from 31 considered for a 58.1 percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel were:
-- For chaplains, one was selected from 23 considered for a 4.3 percent select rate.
-- For medical service corps, zero were selected from 20 considered for a 0 percent select rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel were:
-- For chaplains, one was selected from 28 considered for a 3.6 percent select rate.
-- For medical service corps, one was selected from 67 considered for a 1.5 percent select rate.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel were:
-- For line of the Air Force, 895 were selected from 1,198 considered for a 74.7 percent select rate.
-- For line of the Air Force-judge advocate, 31 were selected from 40 considered for a 77.5 percent select rate.
-- For medical service corps, 20 were selected from 27 considered for a 74.1 percent select rate.
-- For chaplains, 17 were selected from 24 considered for a 70.8 percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel were:
-- For line of the Air Force, 23 were selected from 1,586 considered for a 1.5 percent select rate.
-- For line of the Air Force-judge advocate, two were selected from 36 considered for a 5.6 percent select rate.
-- For medical service corps, one was selected from 31 considered for a 3.2 percent select rate.
-- For chaplains, zero were selected from 21 considered for a 0 percent select rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel were:
-- For line of the Air Force, 101 were selected from 3,089 considered for a 3.3 percent select rate.
-- For line of the Air Force-judge advocate, one was selected from 97 considered for a 1 percent select rate.
-- For medical service corps, two were selected from 85 considered for a 2.4. percent select rate.
-- For chaplains, one was selected from 29 considered for a 3.4 percent select rate.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major were:
-- For chaplains, 28 were selected from 38 considered for a 73.7 percent select rate.
-- For line of the Air Force judge advocate, 64 selected from 68 considered for a 94.1 percent select rate. 

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major were:
-- For chaplains, one was selected from 6 considered for a 16.7 percent select rate.
-- For line of the Air Force judge advocate, one was selected from three considered for a 33.3 percent select rate.

There were no below-the-zone considerations for major.
