Air Force announces medical, dental officer promotions

Air Force officials here have selected 94 lieutenant colonels, 154 majors and 352 captains in the medical and dental corps for promotion Feb. 21.

The board considered 1,349 officers for promotion. 

The results of the promotion board are as follows:

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for colonel:
-- In the dental corps, 27 were selected from 48 considered for a 56.3 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, 42 were selected from 85 considered for a 49.4 percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for colonel:
-- In the dental corps, six were selected from 24 considered for a 25 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, 15 were selected from 84 considered for a 17.9 percent select rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
-- In the dental corps, one was selected from 42 considered for a 2.4 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, three were selected from 165 considered for a 1.8 percent select rate.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
-- In the dental corps, 20 were selected from 20 considered for a 100 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, 125 were selected from 129 considered for a 96.9 percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
-- In the dental corps, one was selected from one considered for a 100 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, one was selected from two considered for a 50 percent select rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
-- In the dental corps, one was selected from 50 considered for a 2 percent select rate. -- In the medical corps, six were selected from 343 considered for a 1.7 percent select rate.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone for major:
-- In the dental corps, 56 were selected from 56 considered for a 100 percent select rate.
-- In the medical corps, 294 were selected from 295 considered for a 99.7 percent select rate.

Selection statistics above-the-promotion zone for major:
-- In the dental corps, none were considered.
-- In the medical corps, two were selected from five considered for a 40 percent select rate.

Selection statistics below-the-promotion zone for major:
-- In the dental corps, there were no below-the-zone promotions.
-- In the medical corps, there were no below-the-zone promotions
