2 Eglin F-15 pilots rescued from Gulf of Mexico Published Feb. 21, 2008 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFPN) -- Two F-15 Eagle pilots from Eglin Air Force Base were rescued Feb. 20 in the Gulf of Mexico. The pilots who were involved in an accident Feb. 20 were transported to medical facilities, and their condition is unknown at this time. They are assigned to the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin AFB. The 1st Special Operations Wing at Hurlburt Field, Fla., supported the rescue efforts. Crews from the 1st SOW diverted an AC-130H Gunship and CV-22 Osprey from local training sorties to the site to assist with search and rescue efforts.
