Air Force runners dominate Marine Corps Marathon

Air Force runners took home bragging rights from the Marine Corps Marathon this weekend, with both the men's and women's teams winning first place in the military services division.

The top times from the top four male and top two female runners are added together. The Air Force marathoners topped their closest competitors, the Marine Corps runners, by almost 20 minutes with a combined total time of 16:19:36.

In addition, 1st Lt. Brian Dumm, from Osan Air Base, Korea, was the first military member to finish this year's race and placed sixth overall with a time of 2:28:27.

The top female competitor of all the services, Maj. Brenda Schrank from Andrews Air Force Base, Md., came in at the 3:00:19 mark.

The other top Airmen were Capt. Levi Severson, Buckley AFB, Colo., (2:31:31); Capt. Jason Schlarb, Peterson AFB, Colo., (2:37:36); Lt. Col. Mark Cuczzella, Andrews AFB (2:37:48) and 2nd Lt. Karissa Goodrich, Goodfellow AFB, Texas (3:02:36).
