Reserve line, nonline promotions announced

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced Aug. 2 the fiscal 2008 Air Force Reserve line and nonline lieutenant colonel and line of the Air Force -judge advocate and chaplain major promotion selection board results.  There were 954 officers selected for promotion.

A selection board convened at ARPC on June 11 for the Air Force Reserve line and nonline lieutenant colonel and LAF-J/chaplain major to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members reviewed the records of more than 1,990 Air Force Reserve line and nonline officers.

Categories considered during this promotion board are: line, chaplain (chap), dental corps (DC), line of the Air Force-judge advocate (LAF-J), medical corps (MC), nurse corps (NC), medical service corps (MSC) and biomedical sciences corp (BSC) officers.

The results of the FY08 Air Force Reserve boards follow:

To lieutenant colonel (Participating Reserve)

- 545 line officers selected from 812 considered for a 67 percent select rate.

- Three chap officers selected from five considered for a 60 percent select rate.

- Three DC officers selected from five considered for a 60 percent select rate.

- 30 LAF-J officers selected from 42 considered for a 71 percent select rate.

- 12 MC officers selected from 15 considered for a 80 percent select rate.

- 55 NC officers selected from 79 considered for a 70 percent select rate.

- 11 MSC officers selected from 16 considered for a 69 percent select rate.

- 11 BSC officers selected from 20 considered for a 55 percent select rate.

To lieutenant colonel (Nonparticipating Reserve)

- One line officer selected from 33 considered for a three percent select rate.

- No DC officers selected from four considered.

- No LAF-J officers selected from two considered.

- One MC officer selected from 24 considered for a four percent select rate.

- No NC officers selected from three considered.

- No MSC officers selected from two considered.

- No Chap or BSC officers were considered.

- 11 chap officers selected from 14 considered for a 79 percent select rate.

- Eight LAF-J officers selected from 11 considered for a 73 percent select rate.

- One chap officer selected from two considered for a 50 percent select rate.

- One LAF-J officer selected from 15 considered for a seven percent select rate.
