Air Force officials announce selections to colonel, lieutenant colonel

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) --  The 2007A Line of the Air Force, Biomedical Sciences Corps, Nurse Corps, and Medical Service Corps central selection boards selected 598 lieutenant colonels and 147 majors for promotion.

The boards considered 5,016 lieutenant colonels and 909 majors for promotion. The results of the boards are as follows:

Selection statistics for in-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 459 selected from 1,010 considered for a 45.4 percent select rate
BSC - 16 selected from 34 considered for a 47.1 percent select rate
NC - 23 selected from 49 considered for a 46.9 percent select rate

Selection statistics for above-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 14 selected from 967 considered for a 1.4 percent select rate
BSC - None selected from 45 considered
NC - None selected from 46 considered

Selection statistics for below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 83 selected from 2,589 considered for a 3.2 percent select rate
BSC - 1 selected from 94 considered for a 1.1 percent select rate
NC - 2 selected from 182 considered for a 1.1 percent select rate

Selection statistics for in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
BSC - 33 selected from 63 considered for a 52.4 percent select rate
MSC - 32 selected from 42 considered for a 76.2 percent select rate
NC - 52 selected from 100 considered for a 52 percent select rate

Selection statistics for above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
BSC - 5 selected from 117 considered for a 4.3 percent select rate
MSC - 1 selected from 32 considered for a 3.1 percent select rate
NC - 11 selected from 139 considered for a 7.9 percent select rate

Selection statistics for below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:
BSC - 3 selected from 166 considered for a 1.8 percent select rate
MSC - 3 selected from 78 considered for a 3.8 percent select rate
NC - 7 selected from 172 considered for a 4.1 percent select rate
