Newest 'Week in Photos' features Airmen around the globe

The "Week in Photos" Web feature on Air Force Link provides visitors with photos that highlight Air Force missions around the world.

At Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq, Lt. Col. Kimberly Bradley carries away an oxygen tank after helping a patient during an emergency trauma situation. Colonel Bradley is assigned to the 506th Expeditionary Medical Squadron.

While practicing wartime skills in a weeklong exercise, Tech. Sgt. John Stutts checks a USC-60 satellite terminal at Castle Air Field, Calif., in support of Operation HYDRA. Operation HYDRA exercises the 615th Contingency Response Wing's ability to "open an airbase" while maintaining command and control of in-theater operations. The 615th CRW is located at Travis Air Force Base, Calif.

The "Spirit of Denali" flies over the Alaska Range June 11 en route to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. This C-17 Globemaster III is the first of eight that will be based there. The airlifters will be flown by active duty in the 517th Airlift Squadron and by Air National Guard in the 249th AS.

In Afghanistan, Tech. Sgt. David Foster meets with the local Afghan children June 11 after a performance with the Air Force band "Max Impact" near Camp Alamo. Sergeant Foster is a guitarist with the band touring Southwest Asia.
