The Air Force Band of the Golden West's rock group, Mobility, performed for the downtown Sacramento community as part of Air Force Week during a June 7 performance at the Cesar Chavez Plaza here.

The special lunch-hour performance was one of numerous events held in Sacramento as part of Air Force Week, and drew nearly 200 people to the community park.

The performance covered a wide range of popular musical hits and incorporated songs spanning numerous musical generations. People were drawn from their office buildings and into the park by the echoing sounds of music ranging from Carlos Santana, Black Eyed Peas and Little Richard.

"I never knew the military had performing groups like this that traveled the world," a mother of a Soldier deployed to Iraq said. "It truly makes me feel a little better to know these groups will go to the remote bases and bring our guys a sense of home."

The group closed with the patriotic Lee Greenwood song, "God Bless the U.S.A." Only one woman left the show disappointed after learning she would be unable to book Mobility for her upcoming wedding.
