Airmen here played host to an early morning show March 22, giving Arizona citizens a look at what the Air Force has to offer, from the comfort of their homes.

The live television remote featured Brad Perry, from Channel 3 KTVK. The weather forecaster brought his show to the base so he could telling Arizonians about Air Force Week and Luke Days, the two-day air show starting March 24.

"It's very important that we're here because this will let people (know) that they can come out and see what our Air Force is doing and have a chance to get up close," said Mr. Perry.

The show, which aired from 6 to 9 a.m., featured military demonstrations from Luke Airmen.

On hand to demonstrate their jobs were the security forces military working dog unit, the explosive ordnance disposal unit and weapons loaders, just to name a few.

The dog demonstration seemed to be Mr. Perry's favorite as he could not control his laughter after a security forces dog took down an Airmen wearing a bite suit while on the run.

During the live shot, Mr. Perry said he had never seen anything quite like that, and he hoped the Airman was OK. The Airman recovered quickly, and no physical injuries were sustained.

"This gives us in the news the opportunity to help people ... understand what is going on with our military," said Mr. Perry.

For many of the Airmen supporting the remote broadcast, this was their first experience with live television.

Tech. Sgt. Gregory Goodro was one of those Airmen, as he and his crew loaded two AIM-9 missiles on the wing of an F-16C Fighting Falcon in only a few minutes.

"This was pretty neat, although I thought there would be a lot more people. There was only a camera guy, the anchor and a technician," said Sergeant Goodro. "Besides a couple of minor things that only a weapons loader would probably notice, the load went very well."

Mr. Perry said the station will continue to cover Air Force Week and Luke Days.

"This is amazing. I even brought my son out, and that's what it is all about, bringing the family out and taking a look."
