A U.S. Air Force Academy senior was named Mountain West Conference men's swimmer of the week Jan. 24 by the conference office.

This is Cadet Chris Knaute's third honor this season and seventh of his career.

The cadet from Houston led Air Force to a 175-125 win past two-time defending MWC champions UNLV last week, leaving the Falcons as the only undefeated men's team in league action at 2-0.

He posted four wins against the Rebels, clocking a 1:53.03 in the 200-meter butterfly, a 4:38.38 in the 500 free, and a 9:46.25 in the 1,000 free. He also anchored the winning 400 free relay to a 3:05.60 before posting a 1:40.80 in the 200 free against Denver.

Cadet Knaute was also on the winning 200 free relay team (1:24.30) in the win over the Pioneers to give the Falcons a 12-1 dual record.

He also took home the honor in back-to-back weeks in November.
