A distinguished list of 50 people have commanded the forces who support airpower by unconventional means. From landing gliders with farm animals behind enemy lines in Burma, to today's inclandestine night operations to support the war on terrorism, special operations forces have led the way, bringing distinctive intelligence capabilities to the fight.
