White House Fellows Program seeks applicants Published Dec. 8, 2004 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Air Force officials are encouraging Airmen to apply for the White House Fellows Program. Applicants must obtain written endorsement and authorization from their commanders.Founded in 1964, the program is one of America's most prestigious for leadership and public service, officials said. It provides firsthand experience in government operations. Up to 19 people are selected each year to work fulltime for one year as special assistants to senior executives in cabinet-level agencies or in the executive office of the president. Servicemembers are particularly encouraged to apply since the program enhances executive development, officials said.
