The use of what looks like a model airplane to help provide security at Balad Air Base, Iraq, spotlights the latest edition of Air Force Television News. Tech. Sgt. Pachari Lutke reports on a small unmanned aerial vehicle called Desert Hawk that is playing a vital role in monitoring areas around the base that are susceptible to terrorist attacks.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper discusses the growing Air Force role in the Pacific region. Staff Sgt. Michael Noel reports from Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., on how warfighters training for urban warfare are learning to fight a different kind of enemy.

Staff Sgt. Kevin Dennison shows how Air Force Academy cadets are exposed to conditions on the battlefield. Staff Sgt. Michael Tateishi reports on the academy’s program that lets international military students and academy officials exchange ideas so both get to know each other’s customs and practices.

Staff Sgt. Leigh Bellinger spends a day with an Alabama Air National Guard unit that is providing part of the aerial refueling mission for Operation Noble Eagle. Tech. Sgt. Bill Scherer reports from Pope AFB, N.C., on an alert member of the base’s finance department who found thousand of dollars owed to the base by the state. And, Sergeant Lutke also profiles a chaplain assistant at Balad AB and how her work helping the messenger is providing spiritual guidance to troops in the field.
