In a two-part report, Tech. Sgt. Rusty Barfield and Staff Sgt. April Lawrence report from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, and Minot AFB, N.D., on the deployment of a contingent of B-52 Stratofortress bombers, their crews and support personnel to supplement the mission of Pacific Air Forces.In another part of the world, Tech. Sgt. Pachari Lutke accompanies a C-17 Globemaster III crew from Charleston AFB, S.C., to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The crew flew a group of Marines to augment other international forces there in the wake of violence.Staff Sgt. Leigh Bellinger travels to Sheppard AFB, Texas, to report on what leaders there, as well as at Air Education and Training Command, are doing to cope with the problem of more allegations of sexual assault. Sergeant Bellinger’s report also includes what senior leaders are doing to combat the problem Air Force-wide.Sergeant Lutke and Tech. Sgt. Joy Josephson-Spann report from Florida where they are examining how that state’s National Guard is contributing to the war on drugs. Sergeant Lutke flies with an Air National Guard unit that tracks illegal drugs from the air; Sergeant Josephson-Spann shows how other units on the ground are taking part in the ongoing war to stem the flow of drugs into and through Florida.Staff Sgt. Joe Wallace talks to legal and other officials at Tinker AFB, Okla., on problems being created by a drug that, in the civilian world is legal, but in the Air Force can result in jail time and career destruction.Staff Sgt. Kevin Dennison updates viewers on the pilot-training program at the Air Force Academy, and also looks at the academy’s new, state-of-the-art control tower. Finally, Staff Sgt. Marty Rush braves the cold in Alaska to spend time with a group of Airmen who are learning firsthand how to survive in an arctic-like environment.Air Force Television News is a biweekly production of Air Force News Service.
