Tech. Sgt. Pachari Lutke leads off with a story at the program’s headquarters at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., by reporting about efforts to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and improve the environment. Besides Lutke’s report, Tech. Sgt. Rusty Barfield is at Hickam AFB, Hawaii, with a story on how sport utility vehicles are being converted to electric power. Staff Sgt. Marty Rush reports from Edwards AFB, Calif., on a cooperative effort between Daimler-Chrysler and the Air Force testing electric-powered vehicles. Staff Sgt. Joe Wallace is at Tinker AFB, Okla., to examine Air Force testing of the Segway people mover in its warehouses.Staff Sgt. Kevin Dennison covers ongoing efforts at the Air Force Academy, including results of a climate survey showing some 90 percent of the student body trusts its new school leadership.In a second story from Tinker, Wallace shows what the Air Logistics Center is doing to transform the way it operates. Staff Sgt. Leigh Bellinger goes to Keesler AFB, Miss., to highlight work the Air Force’s Genetics Center is doing there. Lutke visits Duke Field, Fla., to profile the busiest active-duty squadron in the Air Force. Tech. Sgt. Joy Josephson-Spann is on hand as the first enlistee signs up for a shortened enlistment. The new program is aimed at shoring up career fields needing people. Finally, Staff Sgt.
