How the transformation of the Air Force will affect Air Mobility Command is spotlighted in the latest edition of Air Force Television News. In a special Eye on the Air Force, Staff Sgt. Joe Wallace goes to Scott Air Force Base, Ill., to examine what role AMC will play in the transformation blueprint.

Staff Sgt. Kevin Dennison visits Offutt AFB, Neb., to profile a maintenance squadron. Squadron airmen maintain a wide range of aircraft providing worldwide reconnaissance, command and control and combat support.

Meanwhile, Staff Sgt. Marty Rush flies over California showing how the Civil Air Patrol contributes to the ongoing battle to keep people or drugs from illegally crossing U.S. borders. Wallace has a story from Chicago on a cooperative effort between U.S. Customs and the Air Force to prevent U.S. mail from being used as a method of smuggling contraband into the country.

Staff Sgt. Shiela Kowalewski reports from Langley AFB, Va., on a new security vest being tested that allows motorists to better see security forces at night.

Staff Sgt. Melissa Allan reports on the ongoing attempts to diversify the menus of Meals Ready to Eat as well as making them more palatable.

Dennison reports from Luke AFB, Ariz., on a group of airmen who take pride in their work, packing parachutes for aircrews.

Staff Sgt. April Lawrence examines the working dog training program at Lackland AFB, Texas, where all dogs for government agencies are trained. Tech. Sgt. Angie Pianga shows how working dogs are cared for while they are still puppies in a program called “Puppy Walkers.”

Finally, Allan is in New York City as the Air Force takes part in the city’s observance of the Centennial of Flight.
