The Air Force's role in Operation Iraqi Freedom and an update by two Air Force senior leaders on what is being done to address the rape and sexual assault issue at the Air Force Academy highlight the latest edition of Air Force Television News.

Most of the program's focus is on Operation Iraqi Freedom. Master Sgt. Dan Robinson and Staff Sgt. Leigh Bellinger update Air Force participation in the war against Iraq. Robinson examines the role of the F-15 Eagle and F-117 Nighthawk in the conflict, while Bellinger details the wide range of assets the Air Force is using in its part of the operation.

Air Force Secretary Dr. James Roche and the Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John Jumper briefed members of both houses of Congress on what the Air Force has done, is doing and will do to create a safer environment for female cadets at the academy.

Staff Sgt. Bill Scherer visits Brooks City-Base, Texas, to report on training for aeromedical evacuation and for tending to wounded as they are en route to behind-the-lines medical facilities.

Staff Sgt. Joe Wallace goes to Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., to show what happens when a family member is deployed, and the remainder of the family must continue with life as usual.

Staff Sgt. Bronwyn Tardo reports on the pro-active approach the Air Force is taking to tackle head-on the problem of domestic violence, a problem exacerbated by tensions brought on by the war against Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Marty Rush covers the second of a three-part series on the making of a pilot. In this segment, Rush spotlights training for those who will ultimately fly tanker and cargo aircraft.
