Incirlik and its people will share the spotlight with Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson on Feb. 3 during a special broadcast of "Good Morning America."

The show, scheduled to be broadcast live from Istanbul, will focus on Turkey's role in current events as well as Incirlik's specific role as the hub of Operation Northern Watch.

"We're doing a several-country tour of the region," said David Wright, "Good Morning America" correspondent. "There's a lot of attention focused on this area of the world, and Incirlik is an important part of this story."

The film crew spent a day piecing together a "day in the life" at Incirlik by visiting people at the school, child development center, dental and medical clinics, base exchange and various other facilities.

To portray the operational side of the mission, the crew went to the flightline and spoke to deployed pilots and airmen supporting Operation Northern Watch.

"We're getting tons of great stuff," said Laneice Collins, "Good Morning America" field producer. "We've got a good sense of how base life is for military people." (Courtesy of U.S. Air Forces in Europe News Service)
