Air Force announces medical promotions

RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) --  The Air Force has selected 638 medical and dental corps officers for promotion. The officers were chosen by the colonel, lieutenant colonel and major medical and dental corps selection board that convened at the Air Force Personnel Center here Oct. 28 to Nov. 4.

The lists of promoted officers, released Dec. 19, are available on the AFPC Web site.

Overall, 118 officers were selected for promotion to colonel, 144 to lieutenant colonel and 376 to major.

Selection statistics for those in-the-promotion zone for colonel:

-- 57 MC lieutenant colonels were selected from 74 considered for a 77 percent selection rate.

-- 21 DC lieutenant colonels were selected from 31 considered for a 67.7 percent rate.

Selection statistics for those above-the-promotion zone for colonel:

-- 23 MC lieutenant colonels were selected from 101 considered for a 22.8 percent rate.

-- 13 DC lieutenant colonels were selected from 82 considered for a 15.9 percent rate.

Selection statistics for those below-the-promotion zone for colonel:

-- Three MC lieutenant colonels were selected from 134 considered for a 2.2 percent rate.

-- One DC lieutenant colonel was selected from 46 considered for a 2.2 percent rate.

Selection statistics for those in-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:

-- 116 MC majors were selected from 118 considered for a 98.3 percent rate.

-- 20 DC majors were selected from 20 considered.

Selection statistics for those above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:

-- One MC major was selected from two considered for a 50 percent rate.

-- No DC majors were selected from three considered.

Selection statistics for those below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:

-- Six MC majors were selected from 319 considered for a 1.9 percent rate.

-- One DC major was selected from 38 considered for a 2.6 percent rate.

Selection statistics for those in-the-promotion zone for major:

-- 336 MC captains were selected from 339 considered for a 99.1 percent rate.

-- 39 DC captains were selected from 40 considered for a 97.5 percent rate.

Selection statistics for those above-the-promotion zone for major:

-- One MC captain was selected from two considered for a 50 percent rate.

-- No DC captains were considered.
