Airman sentenced for drug use Published Dec. 12, 2002 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England (AFPN) -- A 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron airman was sentenced to a bad conduct discharge, reduction to the lowest enlisted rank and 10 months confinement during a court-martial here Dec. 11.Airman 1st Class James Rotunda pleaded guilty to five specifications of violating of Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for wrongful use of controlled substances, which were marijuana, Ecstasy, hashish and cocaine. He is serving his sentence at the confinement facility here.This court-martial is the first disciplinary action against several airmen from RAF Lakenheath who were suspected in October of being involved in the use, possession and distribution of controlled substances.
