2018 AFSA Pitsenbarger Award nominations sought

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Officials are currently accepting nominations for the 2018 Air Force Sergeants Association Pitsenbarger Award.

The award is presented annually to an Air Force enlisted member who has performed a heroic act, on or off duty, which resulted in the saving of life or prevention of serious injury.

This award is open to all active-duty Air Force enlisted members to include Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve. The period of performance for this award is from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2017.

Each major command, combatant command, field operating agency or direct reporting unit may submit one enlisted nomination to the award authority. Nominations are due no later than March 1.

Specific eligibility and application procedures are available via myPers. Select “any” from the dropdown menu and search “Special Trophies and Awards.”
