CMSAF visits with 445th AW, 655th ISRW

Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne S. Bass visited with Reserve Airmen from the 445th Airlift Wing and 655th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing during her visit to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Oct. 2.

During her first stop, Bass met with Airmen from the 655th ISR Wing. There, she received a wing mission brief and participated in an enlisted call.

Her next stop she met with Airmen from the 445th Civil Engineer, 445th Logistics Readiness and 87th Aerial Port Squadrons and toured their areas.

From there, Bass stopped at Hangar 4024, where she was given a tour of the metal technologies shop. Her visit concluded with an enlisted call.

During her visit to both wings, Bass coined one 655th ISR Wing Airman and three 445th AW Airmen who were chosen as outstanding performers for the wing; Tech. Sgt. Jana Palant, 655th ISR Group noncommissioned officer in charge of readiness and training, Tech. Sgt. Ryan Lucas, 445th Logistics Readiness Squadron NCOIC of ground transportation support, Staff Sgt. Leslie Smith, 445th Maintenance Squadron non-destructive inspection journeyman, and Tech. Sgt. Marcela Itah, 89th Airlift Squadron squadron aviation resource management technician. Lucas and Smith were coined in their respective units while Palant and Itah were coined during their enlisted calls.

In addition to the outstanding performers, Bass coined Master Sgt. Sean Sullivan, 445th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, for his role in securing first place in the over-40 age category at the FireFit Europe Championships held in Hannover, Germany, June 20. In return, he gave her a City of Frankfort, Kentucky, coin from his civilian job as a firefighter with the Frankfort Fire Department.
