Voting deadline for Teen Council video contest is Oct. 21

The final date to vote for the 2013 Air Force Teen Council video contest is Oct. 21.

More than 20 videos were submitted for the fifth annual teen video contest and entries have been posted on the Air Force Teen Council Facebook page.

To view the videos, log into Facebook, visit www.facebook.com/airforceteens and click on "recent posts by others," located in the right hand column. After viewing the videos, return to the teen council's home page and click on the "Teen Center TOUR Video Contest Survey" link to vote.

The contest was developed to encourage teenage members of Air Force installations, teen councils and other teen leadership groups to share what makes their youth and teen center stand out from the rest of the Air Force.

"This contest gives our teens an opportunity to challenge themselves and use both creativity and teamwork to produce a welcome message to teens arriving to their installation," said Chester Kline, a Air Force Personnel Center youth specialist. "These videos will help teens feel more comfortable when arriving at a new installation and introduce them to some of the teens around base."

A total of $5,000 in youth improvement grants are eligible to the installations which receive the most votes. Transition specialists will also vote on the video which is most beneficial to incoming teens. The installation who produced this video will receive a $5,000 grant.
