Twenty-two lieutenant colonels and lieutenant colonel-selects have been tapped for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) detachment command, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced Dec. 10.

The officers selected for AFROTC command were among 53 candidates identified by the selection board in September, according to Sundy Muniz, from the AFPC special duty assignments branch.

"Selection for command of an ROTC unit is very competitive,” Muniz said. "The ROTC detachment commander is the first leader and commander most Air Force officers will follow, so criteria are stringent and standards are high. These men and women will be in the business of developing future warrior leaders and caring for Airmen."
