Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors helps families
Senior Airmen Afton Thornton and Sara Skoog work with children attending the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors camp May 25 at Crystal City, Va. The two were mentors for the children helping them have fun by playing games, as well as talking to them during grief sessions about the loss of their loved one. Held over Memorial Day weekend, TAPS was a three-day camp children and family members who have lost a loved one in military service can attend that aims to help teach families how to grieve, as well as share their stories and make friends who share their loss. Airmen Thornton and Skoog are Air Force Honor Guard members. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Madelyn Waychoff)
