Ramstein launches first C-130J flight to assist Ebola outbreak efforts
Capt. Brian Shea and Capt. Joe Eastman prepare to fly the first mission from the 37th Airlift Squadron into Liberia, to assist with Operation United Assistance Oct. 7, 2014, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As the Ebola outbreak becomes a potential global threat, U.S. Africa Command is working in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development, the lead federal agency, as part of a comprehensive U.S. government effort to respond to and contain the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa as quickly as possible. This was the first C-130J Super Hercules flight launched from Ramstein to Monrovia, Liberia in support of OUA. Shea and Eastman are pilots with the 37th AS. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
