Portraits in Courage
Lt. Col. Karl Ingeman is one of 20 Airmen profiled in the 2012 edition of "Portraits in Courage" highlighting cases of courage and bravery. Ingeman is an F-16 pilot at Aviano Air Base, Italy, who helped saved a downed aircrew during Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya by making low passes to keep enemy vehicles at bay.
