The calico wing
The 313th Air Expeditionary Wing, which is supporting Operation Unified Protector, was given a nickname Calico Wing by the wing's commander, Brig. Gen. Roy Uptegraff. The 313th AEW operates from an air base in Western Europe. Operation Unified Protector is part of the international response to the unrest in Libya and enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973 of a no-fly zone over Libya.
