FARP ready at Yamagata Airport
Tech. Sgt. Paul Hammer runs a fuel line to a MC-130P Combat Shadow March17, 2011, at Yamagata Airport, Japan, during efforts to establish a forward area refueling point there. FARPs allow aircraft to operate at further distances by allowing the aircraft to refuel where no fuel typically exists. The fuel at Yamagata Airport will be used for American search-and-recovery teams during Japan's earthquake and tsunami relief.
