F-15s with an eagle eye
An F-15SG and two F-15E Strike Eagles sit on the flightline during sunset Dec. 6, 2010, at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. The F-15's superior maneuverability and acceleration are achieved through its high engine thrust-to-weight ratio and low-wing loading. It was the first U.S. operational aircraft in which the engines' thrust exceeded the plane's loaded weight, permitting it to accelerate while in vertical climb. The F-15Es are assigned to the 391st and 389th Fighter Squadrons and the F-15SG is assigned to the 428th Fighter Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Debbie Lockhart)
