Centrifuge takes last spin
Capt. George Cannon prepares to spin in the centrifuge during flight acceleration training Oct. 27, 2010, at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. Captain Cannon was the last student to spin in Holloman AFB's centrifuge, which is being deactivated as directed by the Department of Defense Base Realignment and Closure of 2005. The BRAC announced the consolidation of the fighter acceleration training and aerospace medicine research missions at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, where a new centrifuge is being built.
