Atlantic Strike
Staff Sgt. Michaelson "pops" a smoke bomb during exercise Atlantic Strike 10-02 Sept. 14, 2010, in Avon Park, Fla. Popping smoke is one of the ways the team leads get the joint terminal attack controller and joint fires observer to have a sense of urgency. Atlantic Strike is a biannual Air Combat Command sponsored joint training exercise designed for the tactical employment of air power in support of joint terminal attack controller and joint fires observer integration through close air support.
