The women of the Abu Shouk camp came out to celebrate receiving solar cookers donated by Maj. Jonathan Gration. Using the solar cookers cuts the requirement for firewood by two-thirds, keeps the women from having to search for firewood outside of the camp where they are at risk for attack and preserves Darfur's trees, which currently ranks fourth in the world for deforestation.
