Air Force trauma center
A 59th Medical Wing Trauma Team performs emergency resuscitation procedures during a mock exercise. As of Jul 1, Wilford Hall Medical Center will no longer care for trauma patients. The hospital's trauma staff will move its Air Force trauma mission to Ft. Sam to create the San Antonio Military Medical Center by September, 2011, in compliance with the 2005 BRAC law. The WHMC emergency department remains open for non-trauma care. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Thomas Coney)
