Research provides acceleration protection for pilots

Lt. Col. Lance Annicelli (right) and Dr. Ulf Balldin (left) fit retired Capt. James Kisner with a prototype muscle stimulation suit to perform a centrifuge test as part of an acceleration protection research project they are conducting May 25, 2010, at Brooks City-Base, Texas. The three men designed a garment to be worn by pilots that will automatically sense and contract lower body muscles during and throughout excessive G-forces during flight.
