Deployed Airmen keep home communication lines open through reading program
Staff Sgt. Gavin Ramos is video-recorded April 8, 2010, while reading a book for his children at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia. Sergeant Ramos was the first Airman at the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing to participate in the USO's United Through Reading program. The program allows a deployed servicemember to read a book while being recorded, and the book and a DVD are sent home to a child to view and follow along. Sergeant Ramos is a services journeyman with the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron. He is deployed from the 154th Force Support Squadron at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
