Dignified transfer

Brig. Gen. Kenneth Roberts (from left), special assistant for the director of the Army National Guard; Gen. Carrol H. "Howie" Chandler, vice chief of staff of the Air Force; and Col. Manson Morris, 436th Airlift Wing commander, return from the dignified transfer on the flight line at Dover Air Force Base, Del., March 12, 2010, of two fallen servicemembers of Operation Enduring. A solemn dignified transfer of a fallen member is conducted upon arrival at the base from the aircraft to a transfer vehicle to honor those who died in the theater of operation while serving their country. The member is then transferred to the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center. General Chandler and his wife, Eva-Marie, toured center, participated in a dignified transfer and met family members of the fallen. (U.S. Air Force photo/Jason Minto)
