Lockheed-Martin X-35A first flight
The Lockheed-Martin X-35A concept demonstrator completed its first flight on Oct. 24, 2000. Along with the short-takeoff and vertical landing X-35B and the carrier version X-35C, it was selected to enter full-scale development in the tri-service and multi-national Joint Strike Fighter program in 2001.
