Season of giving extends throughout the year at top of the world
Tech. Sgt. Damon Jensen, 821st Support Squadron, remains calm as Tech. Sgt. Amanda Beatie, 821st SPTS, trims down his eyebrows as part of a fundraising event at the Julemand Festival here Nov. 17. The festival is an annual event that is part of Operation Julemand -- the Danish word for Santa Claus -- the base's largest charity drive. The operation raises money to buy Christmas gifts for children in the surrounding villages. From head and eyebrow shaving to a 'Thule Idol' contest, the festival raised more than $7,000.
