Dolphins fly to New Caledonia with Hickam C-17 crew

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Aaron Nutt gets the attention of his dolphin while aboard a C-17 Globemaster III from Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, Nov. 8, 2009, en route to New Caldeonia. Petty OfficerNutt is assigned to the Navy Marine Mammals program as a dolphin handler and the C-17 crew is taking the Sailor and dolphin to Noumea, New Caledonia, where they will participate in Lagoon Minex 2009, which is a humanitarian project where U.S. Navy, French, Australian and New Zealand military personnel will remove mines left over from World War II from the surrounding water of the area.
