The Nellis Air Force Base Honor Guard presents the colors during the opening of the Air Force Band of the Golden West performance Oct. 17 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The Band of the Golden West, from Travis Air Force Base, Calif., is the only active duty Air Force band west of the Rocky Mountains. They are scheduled to perform five free concerts in the Las Vegas community. The band supports 10 active duty Air Force bases, five Air Force Reserve wings and five recruiting squadrons in California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada with more than 500 annual performances.
